Pole Stanchions

Galvanized stanchions for Pole Trailers provide a convenient way to position poles. Each is equipped with an over-center, variable tension, cam lock assembly. Because they are completely non-rusting, they won’t seize to the bolsters like old-fashioned stanchions do.

Pole Hubs

Dual pole hubs are standard on our Pole Trailers so operators can easily wrap the strap under the first binder hub, around the pole or poles, under the second binder hub and secure at the hook provided at the opposite end of the trailer. This method centrally secures the load without unsafe pole spreading.

Rear Light Bar

A rear lightbar is essential to communicate the length of your load and your intention to stop or turn. Our fluorescent orange powder coated aluminum light bar for Pole Trailers provides FMVSS 108 lighting at the rearmost pole position. It’s an integral part of the trailer, so it’s always there, ready and working. An exclusive Tread Grip lined “V” combined with a 2″ nylon ratchet binder provided on the light bar assures a firm hold on the pole. Custom Reel Frame

We develop reel frame kits that retrofit to your existing flatbed truck or trailer. Bolt-on/off convenience creates a lot of flexibility for your fleet. Outfitting a custom frame with a turret assures the reel can line up to the work, not the whole vehicle. Winch Binder with Strap Choices

Ratchet-type binders are known as chin-busters and back-strainers for good reason. Finding that next tooth position to provide the right strength and torque is often frustrating and dangerous.

We offer self-locking, worm gear winch binders to eliminate a risk to safety with a 5500# capacity. They’re simple to use with the ability to hold tension at all times. With highly durable component materials and finishes, it is safer, easier to use and longer lasting than ratchet type binders. After thousands of installations in the field, they are tested and preferred by users across the U.S. and Canada. Our galvanized crank handle makes the operation smooth and simple. The 4″W nylon straps are color coded to identify length, for simple, correct replacement. Right-sized straps eliminate excessive strap tails after securement. Heavy duty hooks are installed opposite binders to secure the strap D-ring.

8805 Almag Outrigger Jack

The standard Model 8805 Almag Outrigger Jack offers simple, reliable use through better design and materials. With no fasteners and no rusting parts, simply move the bronze latch to raise and lower the Almag Jack Leg into position and replace the latch. It is that simple.

Bent Mainframes

Why are bent frame tubes so important?

Look at the frames on vehicle chassis.  You will find very little welding.  Even when structures like cross members need to be attached, it’s generally done with fasteners.  Providing good welds is a necessary part of trailer building.  Engineering out of welds where possible provides structural benefits and is an intelligent thing to do.

 A bent tube frame is superior because:

• It provides uniform strength throughout the frame by eliminating the stress concentrations common in the heat affected zone caused by welding.
• The welded area does not have the toughness that is inherent in a continuous bent tube frame.
• The weld area is difficult to inspect because the joint is hidden after it is welded.  This is true for other welds as well but, in this critical area, there are unique challenges.  An angled cut is required and the accuracy of this cut and the resulting joint can not be verified after the tube is welded.  The tube walls should be beveled prior to the weld application and this cannot be determined after the fact without cutting the tube apart.  The V-groove weld that results is difficult to ensure full joint penetration on the hidden base of the joint.
• Welding provides a discontinuous surface that is more susceptible to rust formation and this deterioration through time can affect the strength of the joint.
• Just as a casting can provide uniformity of shape and character, a bent frame does not possess the variability introduced by cutting, beveling, bending, and welding the joint

All-Weather Wheel Chocks

Specify Sauber Mfg. Co. All-Weather Wheel Chocks for safety. The grip strut face locks wheels tight on all surfaces in all weather conditions. The chock face grips tight to the tire surface while the motion of the tire wedges the chock between the wheel and the ground. The orange urethane grip handle is highly visible and reminds users to deploy and retrieve it. It is comfortable and easy to grip with gloved or bare hands.

Wheel Nut Indicators

During their daily safety check, your operator will be immediately aware of two potentially dangerous conditions with a quick look at our standard wheel nut indicators.  The indicator may be pointing outside the circle pattern which will signal that a wheel nut has loosened. The indicator may also have started to blister and distort which indicates it has been exposed to temperatures above 240° which could be an indication of brake or bearing issues.  A simple feature, but one that makes a Sauber trailer simpler and safer to operate…

Trailer Lighting Standards

We utilize an LED sealed beam/wiring system w/ stop/turn/tail lights recessed in fully enclosed tube bumper to meet FMVSS 108. Sealed wiring harnesses with no junction boxes or spliced connections. SAE 7-way socket protected top sides and back w/ Almag housing. 1100-52 sealed breakaway w/ charging circuit and LED battery condition indicator w/ 450 C.C.A. maintenance free battery. All trailers include our standard 12′ Coiled Jumper Cord w/ Zinc Die Cast 7-Way SAE Plugs.

Hot dipped galvanized finish is standard across our entire line of trailers.

Experience counts and you can count on weldments and equipment designs which optimize the benefits of hot dipped galvanizing. We include bolt-on cargo decking that is flat and safe to walk on. In addition, we provide accessories in hot dipped galvanized whenever feasible. Often, we’ll provide axle components in galvanized finish.  In fact, all our trailer wheels are galvanized as well.
